Partner Visa

Partner visas are for people who want to come to Australia to be with their partner who is either an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. There are two types of partner visas:

• Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309)

• Partner (Migrant) visa (subclass 100)

The partner visa allows the partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia. This visa is valid for up to two years and can be applied for while the applicant is in or outside Australia. To be eligible for this visa, applicants must be in a genuine and continuing relationship with their partner. This visa also allows the applicant to work and study in Australia.
